FbF® bioClient Installation

FbF® bioClient Installation: Required Pre-Requisite Download links: .NET Framework 4.5 or .NET Framework 4.6 Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86) Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) The driver download will be a zipped folder. When saving the folder from a browser, this will most likely be saved to your Download folder. You will need to extract the contents of the folder by right clicking on the folder and choosing “Extract All” A new window will pop up asking where you want to save the unzipped folder. If you keep the default location, the unzipped folder will save to the same location as the zipped folder. Double click the unzipped folder to view the contents. There will be 4 files inside the folder. To install the FbF® bioClient, you will use the installer titled “FbF Listener_x86” You will need to run the installer as administrator (even if you are logged in as an administrator). Right click on the installer and choose “Run as Administrator”: A Security Warning may pop up asking if you want to install the software. Click on “Run” A new window will pop up that checks for installed pre-requisites. Click “Next”: On the next screen, you will see a list of pre-requisites that you are missing on your machine. You will need to install all of these for the FbF® bioClient to work correctly. Click “Install” (This may be slightly different depending on what you already have installed on your machine. When you click “Install” a wizard will run you through installing each one. In this walk through article, I will only show the install of the FbF® Services) *Note* With some operating systems, such as Windows 10, you may be prompted to install .Net Framework 4.5 even though it is already installed. Go ahead and run through the install wizard and you will get to a screen like below. Click “Close” and continue with the other installs. An FbF® Services Install Wizard will pop up to walk you through the install. Click “Next”: On the next screen, you will be asked to accept the End-User License Agreement. Check the box next to “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” then Click “Next”: The next screen will ask where you want the FbF® Services Destination Folder installed. You can use the default location or click on “Change” to choose a different location. Click “Next”: The next screen will verify that you are ready to start the installation. Click “Install”: During the install, you will see a status window like below: Once the installation is complete, you will see a window like below. Click “Finish”: Now you will be taken to the FbF® Device Listener Setup Wizard. Click “Next”: On the next screen, you will be asked to accept the End-User License Agreement. Check the box next to “I accept the terms in the License Agreement” then Click “Next”: The next screen will ask where you want the FbF® Device Listener Destination Folder installed. You can use the Default location or click on “Change” to choose a different location. Click “Next”: The next screen will ask you how you are going to license the FbF® bioClient. Choose the radio button for “Dongle” (this is the default selection). For the Server Address, enter “/local”. For the Port, enter “5000”. Click “Next”: The next screen will verify that you are ready to start the installation. Click “Install”: During the install, you will see a status window like below: Once the installation is complete, you will see a window like below. Click “Finish”: If you installed the FbF® bioClient before setting up the Activation Wizard, you may see the following error. This will be resolved once the Activation Wizard is setup and the dongle (USB key) is plugged in: When the FbF® bioClient is started, you may see a Windows Security Alert pop up like below. Be sure there is a check by “Private networks, such as my home or work network” then Click on “Allow Access” Futronic Scanner Support: Right click on the file named “hSupportUpdate_x86.bat” and Run as Administrator. You will see a black box (Command Prompt window) pop up shortly. Once the box disappears, you should be able to use your scanner with the FbF® bioClient. If the FbF® bioClient is still not seeing the Futronic scanner, please go to the location C:\Program Files (x86)\Fulcrum Biometrics\FbF Device Listener\FScanner\NdmFutronic and delete the file "ftrScanAPI.dll" and save the new version from the downloaded folder with the FbF® bioClient installer. | |
