SecuGen Driver Installation:

*Please note, do not plug in the scanner until after you install the drivers*

These drivers are compatible with the following devices:

Hamster Pro 20

Hamster IV

Hamster Plus

Keyboard Plus

OptiMouse Plus, OptiMouse IV

ID-USB SC, ID-USB SC/PIV

USB sensors: FDU03FR, FDU03FRS, FDU04, SDU03M, SDU03P, SDU04P, U20

The driver download will be a zipped folder which will need to be saved locally to your machine.  A good example would be your desktop.

You will need to extract the contents of the folder by right clicking on the folder and choosing “Extract All”

A new window will pop up asking where you want to save the unzipped folder. If you keep the default location, the unzipped folder will save to the same location as the zipped folder.

Double click the unzipped folder to view the contents. There will be 3 more zipped folders inside the folder. The first folder is the drivers for a 32-bit machine. The second folder is the drivers for a 64-bit machine. The third folder is the Windows Biometric Framework Drivers.

We will need to unzip this folder also. Right click on the folder you will use for your machine and click on “Extract All” (My machine is a 64-bit machine, so I will be using the second folder)

Again, a new window will pop up asking where you want to save the unzipped folder. If you keep the default location, the unzipped folder will save to the same location as the zipped folder.

The unzipped folder will have the same name as the zipped folder, but it will show an open folder icon to the left of the name.

Double click the unzipped folder to view the contents. There will be 1 folder, a text document and an installer located in the folder. Double click the Installer “SecuGen USB Driver Installation” to start the Installation Wizard.

You may get a Security Warning pop up; Click on “Run”

A new window will pop up showing the preparation status for the install.

Once the preparation is complete, you will see a window like below; Click “Install” to start the driver installation

The next window will show the progress of the driver installation

Once the installation is complete, the progress window will disappear.

The drivers are installed and you can now plug the scanner into your machine.
